Celebrating...

After spending my last year in Canada, I didn't remember how was to go partying again in Spain. However, I got used to it very fast :D We decided to go and celebrate our recent Engineer degrees having dinner and then going out somewhere in the center of Madrid.
During dinner, we had some italian wine, very nice and refreshing (we are 40C or more here, even during the night). The pic with the glasses is an artistic photo made by Jesús that I wanted to share with everyone. He always has to take some like this... telemáticos...
In the last one we can see him showing all his cards: from spanish and swedish banks, from gyms, photocopies machines, multiple ids, a card to buy alcohol in the international waters...

After this, almost midnight, we decide to go to some night clubs to remember our young times... It was nice to see again people walking everywhere, lots of night clubs, one beside the others, with people trying to convince u to enter their pub by inviting u to some shots. We went finally to a place called ´las cuevas de sésamo' ('caves of sesame'), which is a very famous place for its sangrías, and the ceilings are like vaulted. I didn't remember so many people stuck in one same place, and even SMOKING!!! - I remind u that in Spain we got the anti-tobacco law early this year, but seems not to be very succesful. We stayed there for some pitchers of sangría, after which -lets say at 3am more or less- we headed to another place to dance. So lots of fun here -almost as much as in Saskatoon ;).

Already engineer
So after suffering so much with the PCs, as usual, I could manage to get the best mark :D
So this was my happy face... First with Gema and her book (I gave mine to my parents), then Jesús, me, Nelson and Gema (all engineers but our corresponsal in Sweden, Jesús), and finally my mother and me in the entrance of the university.

The end of school
After more than 8 years in university, I could finally finish collecting degrees. Now it is time to go for a job :S
This are some photos from the day I finish. First, the pre-paration for the presentation. I had to go early to the lab where I was going to defend my thesis to leave everything ready for the time I had to make it. I saved it on the PC, checked everything was fine and then made a fast rehearsal. After that, I went for lunch with a friend, who came there to attend my practice session.
And as it is a habit in Spain, we went for a nice black coffee -so different from the canadians...-, and I could have it with ICE CUBES!!! I was so happy that I took 2 in a row :P And this was the time when I started meeting my old friends. Next a photo with some of the ones who went to my presentation (Jesús, Gema (she was also presenting her thesis before me that afternoon) and LuisDa), and then me.
  
After lunch and the 2 coffees it was time to go back to the lab for the presentations. We were relaxed, everything was going to be over in some hours, so waiting for the beers afterwards :P.
I was suposed to be the last one presenting that day, after other 3 thesis. However, the boy who was suposed to defend his before me didn't show up on time, so they told me to do it first. I said it was ok for me, as the only thing i wanted is to finish, and so I went to the PC where my presentation was suposed to be saved. I opened the folder where I saved it and... oh!!! what a surprise!! There was nothing in there!!! So I went to the three proffs who had to listen to my presentation and told them about that technical problem I had, and that I needed some minutes to remake all the links to the videos I had, because they didn't work when I saved them in the PC. That was the time when I started to feel nervous.
The first photo is me and my supervisor in Madrid checking the PC in order to find the missing files that were deleted.
After this break time of 5 minutes, I could finally defend the thesis. Next there is a photo of me during the presentation.

Back in Spain!!
|
Finally, we arrived without any trouble to Madrid. This time we both came with our two pieces of luggage, so no more complains about the airlines.
After about 18 hours of trip, my family decided to take me and see my new house, and then to have something to eat and drink. I don't know how could I make it, but I didn't go to bed before midnight. The funny thing is that because of that, the next day, my eyes were as u can see in the next pics.
